Message From The President

"Beginning in early 2007, several business owners in East Islip began asking a simple question," Why is there no organization working to promote the identity and benefits of East Islip?"  As we began to meet and set a plan in motion to address this concern, we were pleasantly surprised by a Newsday article that was headlined, "E. Islip named in list of top suburbs" (Newsday Friday, May 11, 2007). The article cited five reasons why East Islip was the only community on Long Island named on the list. It seems we have a lot to offer, AND IT'S A WELL KEPT SECRET!

We decided it was time for a change! Meetings were held, By Laws were formulated, and a new organization was formed. A new start.... a chance to create a fresh new image and identity. What an opportunity. It's time to promote East Islip as a wonderful place to live and to do business. Working with the community, we plan to let everyone know what East Islip has to offer. By supporting the community, and each other, the local businesses will help develope a focus in East Islip that has been missing for some time. We have local residents and local businesses as founding members.

We are actively recruiting new members. The more participation we have, the more we can accomplish. Planning new activities, and supporting other community groups that are active in East Islip, will re-rcreate an increased sense of awareness.
